Fund President Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer receiving £400 donation from Mr James Moran

During 2013 the Fund was contacted by retired Constable James Moran, he had been on duty the fateful night of 12/13December 1978 when tragically, two Devon and Cornwall Officers: PC 1585 Joseph Childs and PC 1651 Martin Reid were drowned in Porthleven harbour during a hurricane force gale. James has since that day organised several memorial events in their memory including raising Funds for a permanent memorial stone which is in the Harhour wall at Porthleven. He advised the Fund that he had written a booklet regarding the events of that night . The booklet has been published and all profits are to be donated to the our Fund.  For anyone interested in obtaining a copy, the booklet is called “Alpha Four Two no response” and is priced £4.95 published by Palores Publications Redruth Cornwall IBSN 978-1-906845-43-8 or contact James Moran directly by e mail:- In December 2013 the Fund President Shaun Sawyer received the donation from Mr James Moran.
